In this project, I created a small business support app called Sown. I was initially given the prompt “What do you want to see from your government officials” and from there decided my app would aim to provide resources for small business owners. Unlike large companies with whole teams for marketing and finance, small businesses rely on a single individual or a handful of people to manage everything. In order to balance all the regulations and financial aspects, lots of small business owners could use some help. I decided to take this human problem into an app design opportunity. My goal was to create a high-fidelity prototype that allowed users to learn from other small business owners and get their questions answered without having to scour the internet.
